Naturfreundehaus in Speyer

Always nice, always tasty

Whenever I'm in Speyer on business, a visit to the Naturfreundehaus is always part of it. Best on Tuesday for Rump Steak Day?

Very friendly service, the landlords try hard to comply with the Covid rules. The food is plentiful and nicely presented in the appropriate taste (depends on everyone's palate). I don't think the prices are excessive.

The food is good and the staff is very friendly. For e-car drivers it is also interesting that there is a fast charger and a column with 2 x 22kW in front of the door of the restaurant.

Annoying: the day before a table was reserved for 5 people at 12.30 pm, left again at 2.30 pm "without having eaten". Not even the salad or bread ordered was served. No info or explanation from the staff, overwhelmed. The next table had been waiting for the ordered food for over two hours. One star for the fact that the reservation worked.

Delicious Palatinate and Greek cuisine, good selection and reasonable prices, also for the drinks. An extra praise to the service, very friendly and pleasant, we were very satisfied

The food was very good, large portions and very friendly service. The menu is extensive and also reasonably priced. What was very positive, the children got their food first, high praise for it.

Very neat and quaint from the outside. Unfortunately it was closed. We spent one night in the motorhome in the parking lot behind the Naturfreundehaus. Very quiet and recommendable for travelers, day ticket 3 €. Speyer is worth it.

Nice Naturefriends house, price / performance ratio is right. One cannot assume a star restaurant here. Very friendly boss as well as staff, go out of their way. Will be back for sure.

The service was not so good. Although only a few people were there, it seemed like they were overloaded. But otherwise the food was supiii!

Early afternoon lunch occasion: We were more or less the only guests and therefore had the undivided attention of the wait staff who was characterized by speed and friendliness. The starter, green olive paste, was very tasty, the baguette slices warm. The attached Ruccola would have tasted better with some salad dressing. The small side salad was fresh and tasty. The fries and schnitzel were obviously cooked in the deep fryer and corresponded in all respects to this form of preparation. The gyros was spicy, but delicious, the meat was partly served in too small shreds. The cappuccino had a firm foam and was brought hot. At the expense of the house there was an ouzo and an espresso. The guest room is very large and friendly. However, faded roses are likely to be disposed of as a table decoration. The bringing of dogs is allowed. Parking is available. In the warm season there is an outdoor area on the street and to the rear.
